Description

Celebrate the Rolling Stones’ 1976 album Black and Blue with a series of new editions, the record that marked Ronnie Wood’s arrival as a full member of the band. Acclaimed at the time by Billboard as “one of their most purely enjoyable albums of the ’70s,” its reputation has only grown, with Uncut praising it as “forty-one minutes of super-tight, bone-dry, hi-fi rock and soul… one of the Stones’ most underrated albums.” Steven Wilson’s new 2025 mixes showcase the band’s blend of reggae, funk and rock swagger, from the strutting riffs of “Hot Stuff” and “Hand of Fate” to the balladry of “Fool to Cry” and fan favourite “Memory Motel.”

The Super Deluxe CD Box Set (4CD + Blu-ray) and Super Deluxe Vinyl Box Set (5LP + Blu-ray) feature Wilson’s new mix, unreleased outtakes, and a full live recording from the Stones’ 1976 Earls Court show. The Blu-ray also contains a previously unreleased Paris TV broadcast and Dolby Atmos mixes. Both sets include a 100-page hardcover book with a new essay by Stones expert Paul Sexton, an interview with Ronnie Wood, and a replica Paris show poster.

The Deluxe 2LP and Deluxe 2CD editions present the new mix alongside unreleased outtakes and jams, including the disco stomp of Shirley & Company’s “Shame, Shame, Shame” and sessions with guest guitarists Jeff Beck, Canned Heat’s Harvey Mandel, and Robert A. Johnson.

The standard LP and CD highlight Wilson’s 2025 mix in its original sequence, presenting the landmark album that introduced Ronnie Wood to the world as a Rolling Stone.
