Tina Turner’s Iconic breakthrough album is celebrating its 40th anniversary with limited editions on Pearl Vinyl, Picture Disc Vinyl, 2CD and a 5CD/Blu-ray Boxset.
Private Dancer catapulted Tina into superstardom, selling 5 million copies in the US alone. It featured the #1 single What’s Love Got To Do With It as well as top 10 hits, Let’s Stay Together and Private Dancer written by Dire Straits singer/guitarist Mark Knopfler. Tina cleaned up at the 1985 Grammy Awards claiming 4 awards including Record Of The Year, Song of the Year and Best Vocal Performance.
The special anniversary edition boxset offers a stunning array of previously unreleased tracks, live performances, and footage. There is also a previously unreleased track ‘Hot For You Baby’ featured in the set.
The 5CD/Blu-ray also includes the newly upgraded 55-minute Private Dancer Tour show filmed at the NEC in Birmingham between two historic nights, 23 and 24 March 1985. Directed by David Mallet and featuring unforgettable performances with David Bowie and Bryan Adams, this landmark concert has been meticulously restored by Mallet, offering a front-row experience of Turner at her electrifying best. Alongside the live performance, the set includes five upgraded music videos, with the “Private Dancer” fully restored to 4K from its original 35mm film.
