A Chicago quartet whose merging of jagged post-punk and spare, sophisticated indie rock earned regional acclaim in the mid-2010s, Deeper is the work of singer/guitarist Nic Gohl, guitarist Mike Clawson, bassist Drew McBride, and drummer Shiraz Bhatti. Their 2018 full-length debut helped earn them a wider audience and in 2020, they continued to evolve their sound on the synth-heavy Auto-Pain.
