An Aussie progressive/experimental metal/post-hardcore outfit that wields both melody and might, Melbourne's Ocean Grove formed in 2010 around the talents of Luke Holmes (vocals), Jimmy Hall (guitar), Matt Henley (guitar), Dale Tanner (bass), and Sam Bassal (drums). The band debuted their self-described "odd world music" in 2013 on the independently released Outsider EP. A sophomore EP, Black Label, followed in 2015, and was reissued the following year via the Melbourne indie label UNFD with the addition of the single "Lights on Kind of Lover," which became the group's breakout hit. The Rhapsody Tapes, the band's highly anticipated full-length debut, arrived in early 2017.
