One Last Kiss

The hotly anticipated vinyl for the EP edition of Hikaru Utada’s “One Last Kiss” – the title track of which is the featured theme of the new film EVANGELION:3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME (SHIN EVANGELION).

In Japan, “SHIN EVANGELION” EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 has been the highest grossing movie of the year and 35th highest grossing movie of all time. The movie has now been released worldwide on Amazon Prime.

The SHIN EVANGELION franchise has been described as a “pop culture phenomenon” and a “grand masterpiece”. Outside Japan, the film has a Metacritic score of 84, indicating ‘universal acclaim’ and currently has a rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Following huge demand, the release of the International Edition vinyl of “One Last Kiss” is here. The album cover is different from the original Japanese edition and the cover features the character Asuka, while the vinyl itself is in stunning crystal blue curaçao.

In addition to “One Last Kiss,” the EP includes tracks from other EVANGELION releases, newly recorded and performed by Hikaru Utada in celebration of the March 8th theatrical release of the third film installment, EVANGELION:3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME (SHIN EVANGELION ).

Hikaru Utada is a Japanese American singer-songwriter and producer, and one of the most successful and celebrated artists in Japanese music history. By the end of the 2000s, they were deemed “the most influential artist of the decade” in the Japanese music landscape by The Japan Times.

Commercial success has also made Utada one of Japan’s top-selling recording artists of all time with over 37 million records sold since launching their career in the late 1990s. Twelve singles by Utada have reached number-one on the Oricon Singles Chart, while ten albums have become chart-toppers.

Six of Utada’s full-length releases are among the country’s highest-selling albums of all time, including First Love, Distance and Deep River, which are among the top ten best-selling records of Japan’s music history.
