Sony Music Masterworks is excited to release SPIDER-MAN™: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (ORIGINAL SCORE) with music by composer DANIEL PEMBERTON. Available on vinyl for the first time, the album features music written by Pemberton for the second instalment in the Oscar®-winning animated film trilogy.
This double vinyl release comes pressed on two white and dark purple marbled LPs, featuring highlights from the score hand-selected by Daniel Pemberton. The package includes a stunning soft-touch gatefold jacket with spot gloss, a double-sided collectable poster and two printed sleeves with custom art – plus, an 8-page art booklet featuring liner notes from Daniel Pemberton and art from the film.
Pemberton returns to the franchise after scoring 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a breakout hit with fans and critics alike who praised the composer’s orchestral-meets-electronic score for its breadth and expansiveness as well as its groundbreaking use of record-scratching within a soundtrack. For the sequel, Pemberton has expanded his original soundscape to encompass new stories in the multiverse setting, incorporating everything from operatic tenor vocals and a 100-piece orchestra to Indian percussion, punk rock, techno drums, multi-layered electronics, detuned cellos, time-stretched beats and more.
Daniel Pemberton is an Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning composer and songwriter who has regularly been cited as one of the most exciting and original new voices working in modern film scoring today. He has scored films for some of the industry’s most legendary figures such as Ridley Scott (All the Money in the World, The Counselor), Danny Boyle (Yesterday, Steve Jobs), Michael Mann, (Ferrari) Aaron Sorkin (Being The Ricardos, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Molly’s Game), David O Russell (Amsterdam), and Guy Ritchie (The Man From U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) and many more. He has also written songs with the likes of Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop, Drake, Celeste and many more.
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.
